From a volunteer teacher in a Jakarta orphanage to teaching at Yale University and University of Wisconsin-Madison on a Fulbright grant, language has been my passport.

Applied Linguist — Syntax & Phonology Focus
With a magna cum laude M.A. in applied linguistics and a B.Ed. in language teaching, I have served duties overseas assigned by my country as a national language ambassador.
When I'm off-duty, you’ll find me on Duolingo comparing and contrasting 10+ languages' syntaxes and phonological systems. That “beginner feeling” keeps my teaching sharp.
My research (nine papers and a book chapter) bridges theory and practice in language teaching, sociolinguistics, translation, and lexicogrammar.
Today my organization is advancing its mission to help people navigate the challenges of learning languages. My international travel —28 countries and counting—informs every lesson, turning native accents, idioms, and cultural cues into cross-linguistic understanding.
